  • Tutorial 16: How to synchronize data

    To synchronize your data, such as collections you have created, across multiple devices, open the menu via the three bars and then select “My Profile.” There you can log in with your existing account or create a new account.

    Once you have successfully logged in, you can manage your profile. You can change your name, update your password, or delete your account. Below the logout button, you will also see an overview of all devices on which you are logged in.

    To synchronize all data, you must be logged in on all devices and activate synchronization. To view the collections on the website, simply log in with your account.

    To transfer your data when changing phones, install the app on your new phone and activate synchronization on both devices.

  • Tutorial 15: How to synchronize purchases

    To restore a previous purchase, download the same app to your new device. Make sure you use the same Apple or Google account that you used to make the purchase.

    After downloading the app, open it and navigate to the upgrade section. There, you will see all available upgrade options. On Android, click the circle in the upper corner. On iOS, click the “Restore Purchase” button. The app will then search for and restore previous purchases on the new device.

    To apply your purchase to the web version, create an account in the app or log in to an existing account. Then, log in to the website with your account to browse ad-free.

    Note: If you switch to a device with a different operating system, contact our support team to sync your purchase.

  • Tutorial 13: How to Import and Export

    The import and export functions are located on the Collections tab and can be accessed via the three-dot menu. Exporting creates a CSV file that can be used within our application, in other programs, or shared with friends and family. This feature is useful for quickly expanding your own collections, as well as for creating backups.

    Before exporting, additional options can be set for each selected collection. Specific content can be selected to appear as additional columns in the CSV file. After confirming, the file can be saved or shared directly.

    To import an existing list, simply click the Import button. The next step is to select the file. Before the final import, further settings can be made, such as whether the entries should be added to an existing list. After confirming, the words will automatically appear in the selected collection.

  • Tutorial 11: How to use Filters on IOS

    Filters can be found on every tab except AI Chat. The icon is located at the top right. There are up to 9 categories of filters. Multiple filters can be selected at the same time. Filters are set on a per page basis and are not carried over to the other tabs. Once filters are set, they can be completely deactivated or reactivated using the quick access. The button for this appears to the left of the filter function at the top.

    In IOS, a new window opens for the filters. Here you can also pin any filter categories you like, which will appear above the words and can be changed quickly. When filters are set in game mode, only words that match the filter will be displayed. If a filter is set, but the app does not offer words for that filter, no words will be displayed unless you remove the filter.

  • Tutorial 11: How to use Filters on Android

    Filters can be found on every tab except the AI Chat tab. The icon is located at the top right in the form of three smaller bars. Below it are up to 9 filter categories. Multiple filters can be selected at the same time. Filters are set on a per page basis and are not transferred to the other tabs, but remain permanent until they are removed by clicking the cross. Set filters can be changed without deactivating them by tapping them once. All available options for that category will then open. When filters are set in play mode, only words matching the filter will be displayed. If a filter is set, but the app does not offer words for that filter, no words will be displayed unless you remove the filter.

  • Tutorial 10: How to Collections

    (Android)

    To activate collections on the Android version of the app, you can go to the gear under the collections list item at the three dots of each word. This will open the advanced collections menu. Here you can assign the available slots by entering a name for your collection and, if necessary, activate the slider next to it to display the collection in Quick Access.

    (IOS)

    To activate collections in IOS, you can do so from the Collection tab. There is an Edit button at the top of the tab that opens all collections. You can then enter the desired collection name.

    To display them in the quick access, you have to go to the settings and under Collections you can activate the slider for the respective collection.

    In both versions it is possible to add a word to several collections. This specific word will then be displayed in all collections to which it is assigned.

    Quick Access collections appear on the first page of the Word menu, while other collections appear only in the submenu.

  • Tutorial 8: How to use our app in general

    First:

    To simplify searching, it is possible to double-click on the control bar of the browse tab to open the search bar and start searching directly. In the Favourites tab, multiple clicks will cycle through the collections created.

    Second:

    When you select a word, the detailed description of the word opens. There are three sub-pages for each word. The dots at the bottom tell you which one you are on. The first page contains the grammar and word forms. The second page shows the uses, meanings and translations. The third page gives examples of the word in use.

    Third:

    For words with the same spelling but different meanings, all the words are listed at the top and you can switch directly between them. In the case of adjectives, you will find the other intensified forms.

  • Tutorial 7: How to Search

    There are several options during the search.

    First, you can select different translation languages or change the language you want to search for first. To do this, simply click on the small flag icon in the top corner and select your preferred language.

    Secondly, it is possible to search for several words at the same time. Just type the words with spaces in the search bar and they will be displayed first.

    In addition, the search allows a certain amount of error tolerance and will still find words even if you have made a mistake. However, this error tolerance only goes up to a certain level of spelling mistakes.

    Third, it is also possible to search for inflected words or other forms of words. For example, if you search for the inflected form of “Häusern”, you will also find the base word “Haus”.

  • Tutorial 6: How to share words with the App

    If you come across words on the Internet that you are not familiar with, you can easily look them up in our application.

    Simply highlight the word you want to look up, click Share, and then select your version of the dictionary application. The highlighted word will open in the application and you can continue to interact with the application as usual.

    Conversely, you can share words from the application with others. To do this, click the three dots, scroll down, click Share, and then select the application you want.

  • Tutorial 5: How to use custom Web resources

    Each word has a Web Resources item located under the three dots. To add your own website in the Pro version, first click on the gear at the bottom of the list. Scrolling down to the bottom you will find three custom fields. Here you can enter your desired reference.

    How to: Using Duden as an example. First find the website on the Internet, open it and search for any word. Then copy the URL and switch back to the application. Paste the copied URL into the URL pattern. There is also an overview of the abbreviations you can use, which you may need to use for other URLs. In this example, all you need to do is replace the word you just searched for in the URL with the capital T in curly brackets. After pressing OK, you can now look up your word on this page. If you have activated the slider, you will see your web address as a Quick Access.
