Why does the Translator show more than one result?

A learner may expect one translation but receive several chips. This usually means the input can be understood in more than one way.

Suggested workflow

  1. Open Translator and review all translation chips.
  2. Read the explanation text below the chips.
  3. Open a chip lookup menu if you want to reverse translate or explore one result further.
  4. Use Examples or Chat if you need context before choosing.

Good to know

Several translations are a learning signal. They show that context matters and that the first chip is not automatically the only correct option.
