How do I search faster with speech input?
Typing German words can be slow, especially on mobile devices or when special characters are involved. Speech input can make short searches and messages faster.
Solution in the app
- Open Settings from the main menu.
- Go to Speech.
- Enable speech recognition if the microphone button is not visible.
- Return to Browse, Examples, Translator, or Chat.
- Tap the microphone once to start dictation and again to stop it.
Good to know
Speech recognition enters text into the current input field. It does not replace the language selector, so check the selected input or search language when recognition results are unexpected.
